Spring Fever, Back from the Dead

It's that time of year when I crawl out of the catacombs , days growing longer, cacti starting to grow again and time to get planting and spring to life with energy, this year I finally decided to give the Hoodia Succulents a grow ta see what all the hype is about, so far these little babies are growing at an impressive rate, I have some other cacti sprouting and I will try to plant some yucca as well as go thru archives and see what else I can start. more photos ta come

Tonight I was transfering some more of my cacti to larger pots and my fingers now feel like a pin cussion and no leather gloves do not stop the needlesfrom sticking intoyour fingers, but hey the plants appreciate the room for growth, I tell you it is so damn hard ta get good cactus mix these days so one has to turn to making your own, yes it's a pain in the ass especially for those of us that are not located in or near a desert, however I happen to be located near some gravel pits, Lake Superior, and many peat swamps so I just dig some peat, dig some sand and greavel, add some ground limestone and POOF cactus medium to make my cacti happy plants once again here is a sampling of some of my cacti I transplanted and need toyet to transplant, a few varieties of pricly pear cacti, hedehog, echinocereus,severalvariety of trichocereus, and a few others

Winds of Change

as I left a cold and windy Minnesota climate I am greeted by days of rain and sun along with the crisp breeze of the black sea slapping my face , bringing back memories of many a Seattle winters, the streets of Odecca are abuzz even amongst the rains, today is a very sunny and cloudless day and I shall soon depart to the beach for some beautiful photos, then later in the day a wonderful dinner awaits, ...how appropriate just now "Wish You Were Here" David Gilmour Live in London 06 is on the iPod....Odecca seems even more beautiful than last time I was here the women just as if not even more beautiful than last time, as I write this there are older teens and young men shouting while playing some shoot em up military game on teams , how much different than sitting at home alone and playing with and against people from around the world, now I know what sort of playing situation my co players and opponests are in while gamming
