The past few days were a bit hectic and tiring as the Splinkster was working the phone lines and knocking on doors urging folks to get out and vote for perhaps one of the most if not the most important elections in US History and on November 4th 2008 History was made.For the first time in my life it felt great to support a Presidential Candidate from a major party and even better to personally get involved with the election, sure you got phones slammed down in your ear, people cursing and name calling, a few people throwing your flyer's back at you and slamming their doors, but when you see an elderly white woman saying she is definitely going to vote for Obama it brings a feeling of Democracy still lives, to think that this woman lived during a time when African Americans could NOT even vote, and to listen to her complaints about the cost of health care, and everything going up in price, and how her words carry thru the late afternoon air..." He Has To Win".... as I sat checking the results Tuesday night on 4 different web sites and gritting my teeth with the tight U.S. Senate race, I wondered, what if I would have spent another two hours on the phone lines? or more time knocking on doors would we be in this recount? would Al have won the race and it be over? ................as the votes get closer I hope there is a turn around and Al comes out on top and sends Norm back home packing his bags and NO I don't mean Minnesota I mean pack your bags and go back to New York Norm....and I will even be a nice guy and help you pack and load the truck................Minnesota deserves better, America deserves better and all YOU have done was for your own personal benefit and the Cheney/Bush/ corporate elites at the expense of " We The People" May Al take this Election................as for being laughed at for supporting Obama instead of Clinton, Edwards and so on way back at the start of it all,...all I can say is........ Damn It Feels Good!

This brings back memories of the US Marshall's request to join their team, now I seriously thought of it but they could NOT guarantee me I would get a job on International Flights to Eastern Europe, Hell at least the NAVY gave me the West Coast Guarantee and everyone knows what NAVY stands for...NEVER AGAIN VOLUNTEER YOURSELF. Wise Words, personally I would love to see a draft for the Peace Corps.
